The word “health” is derived from a family of old Indo-European languages, and means whole, hale, and holy. Health is a state of harmony, balance, and completeness. When one or more parts of the whole are unwell (from stress, fatigue, inner conflict, injury, or illness) the entire system suffers. We experience it through specific and recurring patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior. Healing means making whole, sound, and well.
Health as a state of wholeness is achieved when all parts of the whole are free and well: the physical, the emotional, the mental, and the spiritual. There are many paths to good health, and they all begin with deep awareness, self-love, and desire to be well. There are many approaches to achieving health, and the best and lasting ones are developed in harmony with nature. Because we are a part of nature and subject to its laws.
